We’re going out tonight

REDSTONE ARSENAL, ALA. — The Army Contracting Command celebrated its fifth anniversary with a formal dining out at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, June 24. Soldiers and civilians dressed to the nines for an evening of camaraderie and fun. Guest speaker for the event was Jeff Parsons, ACC’s first executive director. Parsons led the command from its provisional days, through the move from Fort Belvoir, Virginia, to Redstone Arsenal, stepping down in September 2011.

The origin of the dining in can be traced to Roman times when military commanders would host banquets to honor military units and their warriors. These gatherings were often victory celebrations where past feats were recognized and treasures of recent conquests were paraded.  Photos .. even more photos
